Labelling Guidelines
Overview:
This document provides guidance to any brand or individual wanting to represent their affiliation with Carbonhound. For Carbonhound certified brands, this document outlines the requirements referenced in the Brand License Agreement (BLA). In general, usage of the Carbonhound marks is only authorized for parties that have an active BLA or other label use authorization agreement.
Objective: These guidelines are constructed to protect the credibility of the Carbonhound marks. The integrity and consistency of the Carbonhound marks is of paramount importance to all brands certified with our organization and to the ultimate end-consumer of these brands’ goods and services.
Badging Usage and Restrictions
The Carbonhound certification badging can be used alone and does not require additional context, but if you wish to include context, here’s a suggested statement:
“We are a Carbonhound certified organization, means we have had our GHG inventory reviewed by a third-party”
Badges will be provided upon completion of the certification.
Who Can Use this Mark
Your brand has completed the Carbonhound Certification process, and received a written Official Notice of Certification via email.
Restrictions
Brands who do not have a certification within the past 3 years, or otherwise do not have an active Brand License Agreement in place
Restricted Usage
Under the terms of the BLA, the Carbonhound certification label must never be used in a way that compromises the integrity, credibility, or reputation of the label, the brand, or the Carbonhound organization.
Companies must not use the label in a way that wrongly implies certification of products or services other than those specifically covered in certification.
Minimum size
In order to preserve legibility the Carbonhound certification should never appear smaller than 150 pixels wide
Ensure that there is adequate padding to ensure that it is easily readable
Prohibited uses
Never use in a color other than the ones provided by the Carbonhound Team.
Do not change the color of the logo, we will offer it with a white or transparent background
Never distort or add other elements to the label
