Carbonhound Connect allows you to connect your utility accounts, as well as send one-off PDF invoices to Carbonhound, for automated data ingestion.
We can automate data ingestion from 98% of data providers, with additional customization available so you can get full coverage to automate your data entry. If you don’t have a login portal for certain data sources, CHC is able to accept PDF invoices through email at [email protected]. Send us your invoices and we’ll upload the data for you!
Connecting through the app
To connect via the app, follow the instructions below:
Navigate to your Company Details by selecting here
Navigate to the Data Concierge tab
Select which type of integration you would like. There are five connection types:
Energy (Automate your data entry for electricity, natural gas, and other energy bills.)
Water (Automate data entry for your water usage bills.)
Waste (Automate your waste data entry directly from your billing methods.)
Business Travel (Automate your teams business travel entry.)
Supply Chain (Connect to your supply chain members data. To connect Supply Chain data you will have to contact our support team to get it configured).
Select the “Connect” button
Once you’ve read how it works and understand the pricing model, select “Accept and Continue”
Using the drop-down menu, search and select the provider you want to connect, for example, “Toronto Hydro”
Next, enter your login credentials which are securely stored in our own OnePassword System. For more information about how we protect your credentials, refer to this page: How we protect your credentials
Select whether you want historical data imported into Carbonhound, and which years of data. If you’re only looking to add in data from the time of connection, you can indicate as such using the appropriate selections.
Forwarding your utility bill emails
At the top of your Data Concierge page within your Company page there is an email address. To forward your bills to this email follow these steps:
In your Carbonhound app open your My Company page
Navigate to the Data Concierge tab
Copy the Email Address at the top of the page
Navigate into your email workspace that contains the utility bills sent to you monthly.
Select forward
Paste the Email Address you’ve copied
Forward the email.
We will contact you to let you know once your data has been processed from the automated bill.
