Aggregate Type

Total: Total aggregate type means that when looking at period totals we sum up all of the monthly values. This works well for intensity metrics like emissions per unit of revenue or per unit of production.

Average: This means that we take the average of all of the values over the course of the period when doing aggregates. This works well for intensity metrics like emissions per employee where you want the average number of employees over the course of the year.

Where intensity metrics are used

Intensity metrics are used within two areas of the app:

  • Targets

  • Benchmarks

Intensity metrics allow you to scale your data by a selected data point such as total employees or total revenue.

If a benchmark is an intensity type your data will be scaled by the intensity metric associated with that benchmark.
